Forschungsschwerpunkte

Dr. Martín Romera works on the social history and the political culture of the later Middle Ages and the Early Modern Period in Mediterranean Europe. Her research interests lie in the anthropological approach to the different ties that bind society together and the daily practice of power in the interactions between authorities and local communities. She has published on late medieval oligarchies, corruption, patronage, kinship, women’s agency, social networks and Iberian judicial and royal institutions with a long-durée perspective from the late medieval to the early modern period.
