02.05.2013
"How did natural knowledge circulate around the seventeenth century Spanish world? This presentation will address this question by using data compiled from the Diccionario Historico de la ciencia moderna en España. Through the use of social network analysis software I have constructed visualizations depicting long-term trends in the production and circulation of scientific knowledge. Among the factors analyzed are changing research preferences, and the role of organizational and personal networks in this process. This presentation focuses on scientific communities in Madrid, Valencia, Mexico City and Cadiz and discusses their role in global scientific networks."
